How to Drive an Automatic Car

Driving an automatic transmission car is very easy. However, you still need to know the driving instructions correctly so that you can enjoy all the functions of the automatic transmission available for driving comfort in various road situations and prevent damage to the transmission system. Follow these instructions: * Before turning on the engine 1. Set a comfortable sitting position. Get used to stepping on the brake pedal only with your right foot. 2. Identify where the gas pedal is. Get used to just stepping on the gas if you want to go and stepping on the brake pedal when you want to stop. 3. Do not step on the brake pedal with your left foot to avoid stepping on the brake and gas pedal at the same time. * When Will Turn On The Machine 1. Ensure that the hand brake is engaged. Step on the brake pedal with your right foot. 2. Make sure the transmission lever is in position (P). The engine can only be started when the transmission lever is in the (P) or (N) position, but it is recommended that the (P) position be more secure because in this position all the wheels are locked. Then turn on the engine. * When Will Run the Vehicle 1. Step on the brake pedal with your right foot. You must step on the brakes because automatic cars tend to advance on their own even though you haven't stepped on the gas pedal. 2. Move the transmission lever to position (D) to forward, position (R) to reverse. 3. Ensure that the shifting lever is in the desired position. Release the handbrake. 4. Gently release the brake pedal, then press the gas pedal carefully with your right foot. Press the gas pedal gradually to increase speed. * While Driving 1. Normal conditions: use position (D) enough to operate the gas and brake pedals. 2. Descent: on the way up and down, get used to using "hold" or "OD off" or "2" position to get the effect of engine braking or engine brake. Do not use the (N) position when driving on a downhill road because there is no engine braking effect or engine brake. 3. Steep Slope: use position (L) to restrain the vehicle and help brake work. 4. Kick Down: press the gas pedal completely to accelerate the speed of the vehicle or overtake another car. * When Stopped 1. In position (D) step on the brake pedal while the vehicle is stopped. Pull on the handbrake if necessary. 2. If there is a long stop for example at a red light, use position (N). 3. To go back to speed, after stopping press on the brakes. Move the transmission lever to position (D), release the brake then step on the gas pedal gradually. * When Parking 1. Park the position of the vehicle correctly. Step on the brake pedal and pull on the hand brake. 2. Move the position of the lever to the (P) position so that the wheel is securely locked. 3. Turn off the machine. For safety reasons, the engine must be turned off when you leave the car and remove the ignition.
